Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement Workshop: Getting to Know Your Hips
Cost: $150 (Teacher Training Students price TBD)
Course: Do you know where your hip joints are?
It seems that we only have a vague idea about the location of these joints that are so fundamental for coordinating movements of the leg, pelvis and back. In this workshop we will explore the structure and function of the hip joints, and examine the relationship to other parts of ourselves, such as the feet, pelvis, lower back, chest, shoulders, etc. You will learn how to release the hip joints, keeping them open and more functional. In the process your alignment, balance and flexibility will improve and you will find greater awareness and ease for standing, walking, sitting as well as your favourite sports, such as golfing, cycling, skiing, etc.
Anatomy Trains® maps the ‘anatomy of connection’ – the whole-body fascial and myofascial linkages. Anatomy Trains links the individual muscles into functional complexes, each with a specific anatomy and ‘meaning’. Anatomy Trains leads to new holistic strategies for health professionals, movement teachers, and athletes to resolve complex postural and movement patterns. Anatomy Trains Myofascial Meridians gives you a new understanding of whole-body patterning in posture and function – the interplay of movement and stability.
Kinesis Myofascial Integration (KMI)
Teacher Training Students will also require to take KMI session with Michael Watson at a reduced rate. This will help with the improvement of knowledge and understanding of KMI.
Regular rate: $150 per session
KMI can be claimed by most insurance companies as Therapeutic Message.
The Lotus Philosophy
“Who dares to teach must never cease to learn.”
One of founding principles at Lotus is that growth never ceases. As teachers, it is our duty to continue approaching the Pilates Method with a student’s sense of inquisitiveness and a renewed sense of dedication. This is one of the values we hope to instill in tomorrow’s teachers. When you finish the Lotus Pilates Teacher training, we encourage you to view this as the start (not the finish) to your a lifelong study of the physical, mental and spiritual practice of the Pilates Method.
Learn from the best to become the best.

Your Pilates Career
After you complete your Lotus Pilates Teacher certification exam, you are qualified to sit for the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) exam.
The PMA is the international, not-for-profit, professional association and certifying agency dedicated to the teachings of Joseph H. and Clara Pilates.
The cost for this course is $3,000 if you participate in the Lotus Teaching Commitment (detailed below), after completion of the program. Payment may be made in six increments of $500.
Otherwise, the cost is $6,000.
The prerequisite to taking the entire course is the Mat Fundamentals Training, which is $500. As it is part of the curriculum, it can be subtracted from the overall cost (i.e. $3,000 – $500 = $2,500) so that you only pay the remainder when you go to finish your 1500-hour Pilates Teacher Training course.
Details on the Lotus Teaching Commitment
We are providing our course at half price for those who are interested in working at Lotus after completion because we believe in spreading the power of Pilates and want to incentivize fellow Bermudians to join our team at Lotus.
For those who want to make this commitment, each person is required to work as a Lotus Instructor at the Associate’s level pay rate, completing 1500 sessions for a period of no less then two years after completion of the Lotus Teacher Training; or submit an additional $3,000 payment within a one year period.
If candidates are Bermudian or spouses of Bermudians, it is possible to take part in this program. Otherwise, participation will depend on the availability of a part-time work permit.
